Back in 1986. Luxo Jr., the first film that was produced by the Pixar Animation Studios makes it’s debut. The short made was first shown in Dallas. The short is only 2 1/2 minutes in length, but would become a signature of Pixar.
The computer-animated short is John Lasseter’s second short and the first film from Steve Jobs’ newly formed company Pixar. Due to the success of this short, Pixar will continue to release shorts.
Today Luxo is the small hopping desk lamp included in Pixar’s corporate logo.
Luxo Jr. will be re-released in 1999 along with Toy Story 2.
