Mathematical! Adventure Time fans, the wait is finally over! After five years away from our screens, Finn the Human and Jake the Dog are officially returning, and this time they are bringing their chaotic fun to Disney+ and Hulu. Adventure Time: Side Quests premieres this Sunday, June 29th, and if the early footage is any indication, this reunion is going to be everything fans have been hoping for.

The new series is designed as a loving companion to the original Cartoon Network classic, focusing on standalone adventures in the Land of Ooo that capture the same whimsical, anything-can-happen energy that made Adventure Time one of the most beloved animated shows of the 2010s. Think early seasons of the original show: lower stakes, big laughs, and Finn and Jake getting into exactly the kind of ridiculous trouble you would expect. In a newly released sneak peek, the duo discovers crossbows for the first time, and things go sideways almost immediately. Finn accidentally fires an arrow into a random stranger in the woods, and rather than learning their lesson, the pair declare themselves “crossbros” and immediately turn it into a points-based game of shooting random objects around town. It is pure Adventure Time chaos and it is wonderful.
Showrunner Nate Cash developed the series and brings serious credentials to the Land of Ooo, having worked on the original show as a supervising director and earning an Emmy nomination along the way. He also directed all ten episodes of the fan-favorite miniseries Over the Garden Wall, so Adventure Time fans are in very good hands. Much of the beloved original cast is back as well, with John DiMaggio returning as Jake, Tom Kenny as Ice King, Olivia Olson as Marceline, and Hynden Walch as Princess Bubblegum. Niki Yang is back as BMO and also steps into a directing role for the series. The one change fans will notice is that Sasha Knight voices a younger Finn in place of Jeremy Shada.
Adventure Time: Side Quests hits Disney+ and Hulu on June 29th, with an international premiere on Cartoon Network and HBO Max following on October 5th. Whether you grew up watching Finn and Jake or are discovering the Land of Ooo for the first time, this is one premiere you will not want to miss! Are you excited for the return of Adventure Time?
