Food And Wine Was So Divine!

I was so excited when I realized The International Food and Wine Festival would be happening during my most recent Disney trip. Epcot just got even more exciting!

I didn’t plan any meals for my Epcot day because I wanted the freedom to try whatever looked yummy! It turns out this was a great strategy!

I had taken a peek at the menus for the booths ahead of time, but the best thing I did was pick up a festival passport as soon as I arrived at Epcot. This passport lists all of the booths and most importantly the menus for each one. It also gives you hints on what to try depending on what you’re in the mood for. I used it to plan my strategy while I waited in line for Spaceship Earth. Not a bad way to kill some time!

The 1st booth that caught my eye was Shimmering Sips. I am a fan of banana bread, so the banana bread with mixed berry compote was a must try, and who could resist the shimmering strawberry soft serve! Both of these got a 2 thumbs up!

The Hawaii booth featured a kalua pork slider with sweet and sour DOLE pineapple chutney and spicy mayonnaise.

Everything on the menu at the Italy booth looked fabulous, but I chose 1 thing to try. I chose the mezzelune croccanti and I believe I made the right decision! It was “crispy half-moon breaded mozzarella-filled ravioli with pomodero sauce.” and it was fresh and delicious!

From the Germany booth I tried something called Schnikennudeln which was “pasta gratin with ham, onions, and cheese.” It was amazing!

Even though I was pretty full, I wanted a “grand finale” to my day. The Donut Box booth was calling my name! I chose the candy jar donut and it was huge! Since I had tried so many other treats, I only took a few bites and put the rest in a Ziploc baggie to enjoy later.

A quick stop in Mousegear to buy a pin from the festival and I was off to watch the fireworks to complete my day.

The beauty of this festival is that is lasts a long time! It goes on until November 20th, so you have plenty of time to go! If you happen to be in town on October 1st or after for the 50th, great news! They will be opening even more booths for you to try! It’s a great chance to try some foods and drinks you’ve never had before.
