What is more powerful than a wish coming true? How about thousands of wishes coming true!

For more than 40 years, Disney and Make-A-Wish have worked together to do just that – granting more than 145,000 Disney-inspired wishes for wish kids with critical illnesses. And
today, on World Wish Day, our company reinforced its commitment to creating
even more life-changing moments for wish kids and their families around the world as the Chief Executive Officer of The Walt Disney Company Bob Chapek announced a donation of $1 million to Make-A-Wish. This donation is earmarked
to reach even more Make-A-Wish kids from all backgrounds, supporting Disney’s ongoing commitment to diversity and inclusion.

This donation was announced as part of the show-stopping grand reveal of Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship, the Disney Wish, that will join the fleet in the summer of 2022.

Filled with character appearances, musical performances and state-of-the-art technology, the half-hour virtual event revealed some of the most innovative and iconic spaces that guests will experience aboard the Disney Wish.

The very name of the Disney Wish evokes the spirit and optimism of a wish come true, so what better way to highlight this theme than invite Make-A-Wish to be part of the production magic! During the show’s stirring finale, images of incredible Make-A-Wish alumni surrounded Disney on Broadway star and International
Performing Artist Syndee Winters during her performance of “When You Wish Upon
a Star.” These children and young adults represent the thousands who have had
Disney Cruise Line wishes granted throughout the last 20 years.

And to help us celebrate the power of wishes, three Make-A-Wish families shared their stories
with us. For these families, the wish of a Disney cruise gave them something far greater than they ever could’ve imagined: newfound confidence, strength, family togetherness, new friendships, and most importantly, hope. We invite you
to take a few minutes to hear about their journey and see the joy – and lasting
impact – that a wish can bring.
