Patrick Dempsey Reported to Return to ‘Disenchanted’

At The Walt Disney Company’s recent investor’s event, it was revealed Disney+ would be releasing a sequel to the beloved “Enchanted” film starring Amy Adams. And according to a new report, Adams may not be the only star returning to this long awaited sequel.

According to The DisInsider, Patrick Dempsey will also be returning to star in “Disenchanted” as he is said to be reprising his role as Robert Philip. For those who don’t remember, Robert played the love interest to Adam’s character Giselle after arriving in the real world.

This report is said to be “exclusive” to The DisInsider. However, at this time Disney has not officially commented on Dempsey’s status with the sequel film. Although, they have confirmed Amy Adams will be returning to reprise her character of Giselle.

The report by The DisInsider also says that “Disenchanted” will bring back the character of Morgan, Robert’s daughter, as well. Similar to Dempsey’s possibly role in the film, this news has also not been confirmed by Disney.

For those not familiar, “Enchanted” was released in 2007. The film made over $340-million worldwide at the global box office. Compared to its budget of $85 million, the film was a smash hit for Disney.

The movie gained such a cult following, the call for a sequel has followed the film since its original release in 2007.

Currently, “Disenchanted” is only in pre-production. On the movie’s official IMDB, it’s synopsis reads:

Ten years after her happily ever after, Giselle questions her happiness, inadvertently turning the lives of those in the real world and Andalasia upside down in the process.

At this time, no date is set for the premiere of the film.
