Another week has gone in 2020 Main Streeters! How can this be? Christmas seems like it was so long ago already.  I went back to school this week and now all the kiddos are counting down to spring break.  I teach middle school and high school science, didn’t know if I shared that with you.  Anyway, the other day the kids were cleaning up getting ready to switch classes and they asked me how my break was.  So, I told them about what I did and going to Disney was mentioned more than once because I love it obviously.  One of my students asked me if there were things I have never done at Disney.  You know what? There are quite a few things I have not done, and they are on my Disney bucket list! So, I am going to share with you what I shared with my students, my top five!

  1. Ride every ride in one day

This is a big challenge.  To ride every ride in one day.  Now since Rise of the Resistance opened this could be difficult because you need a boarding pass for that ride, but I still want to do it! Rise of the Resistance is not my big problem, Rock and Rollercoaster is.  I have never been on it and I am scared to try.  My husband rolls his eyes at me because he is a roller coaster junkie. I just don’t like going upside down, that’s the problem.  The other thing is, I am not ok with it being in the dark.  Enough about fear, I need to conquer it. This is a goal for me, to ride every ride in one day!  It would be exhausting and would involve grabbing some quick fast passes, but I think it is possible!  Anyone here ever attempt it? What was your strategy? I would love to know!!

  1. Go to a Disney Spa

I know may seem like a silly goal, but it is something that sounds wonderful to me.  I would like to go to a Disney spa and have some relaxing treatments.  I just need to decide which one I would like to visit and what I would like to do.  They have spas in the larger resorts, like the Grand Floridian and my home DVC resort Saratoga Springs!  I run the Disney races and I have always wanted to get some treatments afterwards, I just never seem to do it.  Maybe this year I will check it out.  Something about sitting in a spa getting a massage or maybe a facial or other treatment sounds very relaxing especially after running 13.1 miles.

  1. Stay inside of Cinderella Castle

This is a huge item on my list.  The castle suite.  Now I know it is reserved for special occasions and some celebrity guests, but a girl can dream, can’t she?  I would be happy just seeing it, I would not need to necessarily stay inside but that would be nice.  From October 2006 to December 2008 Disney World and Disneyland had a promotion called the Year of a Million Dreams.  They had experiences that they gave away to guests at random and for 300 guests or so, staying inside of the castle became a reality.  I did visit during that time, but unfortunately, I was not one of the lucky ones.  Can you imagine!?  Well, I am hoping for the 50th, maybe just maybe they will do something like that again. I guess we will have to wait and see!

  1. Keys to the Kingdom Tour

This one is totally doable and it is going to happen.  I don’t know when but I know it will.  The tour is about $100.00 for an adult and takes you all around Magic Kingdom.  You get to go with a guide and learn things that maybe you didn’t know before, fun facts and history about the park. You also get three fast passes to rides and you ride with your guide! If you plan it right and got 3 more fast passes for after the tour, that is 6 for the full day!  I want to see the utilidor which is under the Magic Kingdom!  It just sounds like fun.  Now lunch is also included in the tour as well as a name tag you can keep and a little key pin! If you are a pass holder, DVC member or Disney Chase Visa cardholder, you get a discount so that makes it even better.  I can see this happening soon.

  1. Stay at the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa

This item has been on my list for a long time.  The Grand Floridian is a beautiful hotel that is on the monorail route and draws quite a few people though its doors daily.  Guests go to visit this hotel for its restaurants such as 1900 Park Fair and Victoria and Alberts.  They might go just to sit in the lobby and hear the band or piano player.  You can have afternoon tea.  All of this comes with a price and that is why I have not done it yet.  I want my stay to be special because it will only be for one night, so I am waiting for an occasion worthy like, an anniversary or milestone birthday Let’s be honest folks, I will be making a reservation at this hotel, I just need to wait for the right time to do it.

Well that is it for this week Ohana!  Hope you have a great week, see you next time!
