Last July we announced that the Disney California Adventure park’s Tower of Terror would be rethemed as the new “Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT!” early this year. Recently it was confirmed that the new ride would be opening “Summer of 2017” but no set date was announced at that time. Until now….
Today Disney announced that the new “Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT!” attraction will open May 27! Disney also confirmed that this summer the Disneyland resort will offer a new limited time celebration called “Summer of Heroes” starting May 27 that will run through September 10.
Limited time “Summer of Heroes” events will include Black Widow’s “Avengers Training Initiative”, the “Heroic Encounter: Black Widow” where she will arrive in the park several times each day for a meet and greet, and the “Grab a Piece (or Bite) of the Action” themed merchandise and food event.
Some of the “Summer of Heroes” events held this summer at the Disneyland resort will be year long like the new Guardians of the Galaxy: Awesome Dance Off! and Super Hero Encounters where you can meet Captain America, Spiderman and Groot!!
