LEGO Announces E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial Set, Nearly a Quarter of His Life-Size Height

LEGO is bringing everyone’s favorite phone-home alien to brick form, and this one is big enough to actually turn heads on a shelf.

The newly revealed LEGO Ideas set #21370, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, stands over 9.5 inches tall, 8.5 inches wide, and 6 inches deep, built from 1,226 pieces. For comparison, the character stood just under 3.5 feet tall in the original film, which puts this display model at roughly a quarter of his actual size.

The set began as a fan project submitted by LEGO Ideas member lafabrick, and after clearing the required 10,000 supporter votes, it was picked up by the LEGO Group to become an official release.

While it’s built primarily as a display piece, the model isn’t just a static figure. E.T.’s head tilts up and down and rotates a full 360 degrees, and his glowing fingertip can be posed to recreate his iconic “phone home” moment. A light brick illuminates his heart, and the set even includes the small pot of flowers he famously revives in the film.

The LEGO Ideas E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial set is available for pre-order now and officially releases on August 1, 2026, priced at $139.99.
