LEGOLAND Florida Resort has just announced that LEGO Pokemon will be the headliner of this year’s LEGO Festival, taking over the brand new Play Zone for what sounds like one of the coolest family experiences of the summer. Running from July 20 through August 16, 2026, LEGO Festival transforms LEGOLAND Florida into a full-on celebration of imagination across five interactive zones, including Music, Creative, Chill-Out, a Thrill Zone, and the star of the show, the Play Zone featuring LEGO Pokemon.
So what can you expect inside the Play Zone? Trainers of all ages will get to bring their Pokemon journey to life in the real world, bonding with, nurturing, and training a selection of five Pokemon before taking on epic brick-built battles. Guests can build their Pokemon a tasty snack in the Nurture area, add a SMART tag to see how their Pokemon reacts, build and display a LEGO Poke Ball, and snap a photo with a giant LEGO Pikachu model making its debut at the festival. The whole experience is built around the brand new LEGO SMART Play system, which is completely screen free and designed to make play feel more active, social, and dynamic.
Here is the really exciting part for Pokemon fans. Families visiting LEGO Festival will be among the very first in the world to get their hands on the new LEGO Pokemon SMART Play sets before they officially hit store shelves in August. That means LEGOLAND Florida is essentially a first look at one of the most anticipated toy launches of the year. Park President Brian Bacica summed it up perfectly, saying the experience gives families the chance to build and share unforgettable moments together through hands-on play, whether you are a lifelong Pokemon fan or discovering it for the first time.
