TMSM’s Adventures in Florida Living ~ Halloween and Heat

Hi Everyone, Happy Wednesday Evening to you! I hope tonight, you are all doing well and are ready for our weekly chat, because I sure am! Lets get to it!

Halloween is hitting Disney Parks, and I’m pretty excited about that.  I’ve been waiting for it.  Yes, people will say, but Michele, it’s too early.  I know, I know… but the Disney Halloween merchandise is SO darn cute, I can’t help myself! We went to Hollywood Studios to get live feeds and photos of the new merchandise, and it’s pretty nice, as usual.  It’s funny because I was doing a live feed of the Halloween table, and Scott saw a lady watching my live feed on her phone not far from me. I wish she would have said hello, I never mind that! A little later, we walked around the corner and found even MORE Halloween goodies like shirts and such.  They are using a few different Haunted Mansion images this year, so I’m happy about that.  The only bad part? I want it all and that’s not financially possible! Maybe once it hits the Outlet stores in November!

Well, like with a lot of other areas across the county, it’s really hot outside.  Even in the evening, it’s still hot.  First thing in the morning, you guessed it, hot. Summer is winding down but everything in this area is still so busy, despite the heat.  We try to get out for some Disney fun on the weekends, so we headed to the Magic Kingdom on Saturday.  I knew we were going to melt, but I was willing to go for a bit.  We got there in time to watch the Festival of Fantasy Parade, which I never get tired of.  Once that was over, we had some Fast Passes to get to, I think we did Space Mountain first, that’s the boys favorite ride there.  It was cool because the People Mover was down, so they had the lights on near where it goes through Space Mountain, and we could actually see the coaster track when we were riding it.  I know others have gotten to see or ride Space Mountain with the lights on, but this is the closest we’ve ever gotten to that.  It was a whole new experience! After that, we were walking towards the back of the park and I ran into one of our long time Main Streeters, Arielle, who was here on vacation.  It was nice to be able to finally meet her, she’s done guest blogs for us before, and has been super supportive.  Always a pleasure to meet friends in person, rather than just online! I’m glad I got opportunity!

After chatting with Arielle and her boyfriend for a bit, we went about our business and headed towards the Haunted Mansion.  The tarps are still up around the Mansion, and from what I’ve head from Cast Members, it’s just routine maintenance. It’s been “hidden” for weeks, I’ll be glad to see the Haunted Mansion again once those tarps are down. It’s allegedly going to be done by the first Halloween party, so we’ll be watching. We walked around the park for maybe four hours total. It’s was so darn hot. I’d venture to say, miserably hot… and crowded. It was just after 7:00, and my poor kids looked like they were melting. I wanted to stick around for Wishes, but sometimes you just have to cut your losses and make it another night. We took some pictures, sat for a few, and decided to get out of there! We ended up getting sandwiches and going home to cool off. All in all, it was a decent trip, even in the heat.

The weekends go by so fast, and before we knew it, it was time to get back to the grind for the week. Yesterday we went over to Epcot after taking the boys to school, just to get some photos and do some walking. They are already setting up food booths for the upcoming Food and Wine Festival, so that was exciting to see. I feel like Flower and Garden just got over with, but here we are getting ready for the fall festivities. Again, time goes too fast. I am however looking forward to seeing what kind of merchandise they have for this years festival. Yes, I have a thing for shopping!

Being that I keep telling myself how fast time goes by, I started thinking about this years big meet up in November, and I’m truly looking forward to that. If you haven’t gotten the scoop, you can find an event tab on our Facebook page, it’s going to be a great time as always! All are welcome to come! So that’s it for our chat this week! As always I thank you from the bottom of my heart for keeping up with what we do, and caring enough to read and comment every Wednesday. It’s amazing. Till next time, sending you lots of blessings, love and pixie dust! See ya real soon! ~M
