Soarin’ Around the World is Open at Epcot… My Thoughts!

June 23, 2016

Soarin

As you know, Soarin’ at Epcot was closed for months undergoing a large refurbishment. The ride was getting a third concourse added, and the movie and screens were also getting an update. After a long wait, we finally got to ride the updated “Soarin’ Around the World” at Epcot, and I must say, it was worth the wait.

Truth be told, I loved the old Soarin’. I loved the music, the smells, the fireworks at the end…. I even loved our Chief Flight Attendant, Patrick. I was hoping that the new updates wouldn’t disappoint, as I know how I am, and I’m not a huge fan of change. We got in line for the “flight” and there was Patrick. Same pre-show, and I’m happy about that. Yes, I still see his as Puddy from Seinfield, but I digress. When we got in our seats, I was excited and hopeful. Would it live up to my expectations? Would the music be the same? To my delight, it did live up to what I hoped, and then some. Guests get to fly over new areas, we get to feel the air and smell the scents from the scenes, it’s great. The music is almost the same too, just a little tweaking. The movie screens are so much more clear now, you really do feel like you’re flying over places like Paris, China…. Epcot. It’s awesome.

So, if you haven’t ridden the new and improved Soarin’ Over the World yet, I highly recommend it. It’s an amazing experience, I even got misty eyed. Give it a try, go Soarin’…. you’ll be glad you did! ~M
