TMSM’s Fashion Friday ~ Showing Your Disney Style

I have literally spent my entire life with a zest for Disney. “Disney Fan” doesn’t even begin to describe the passion and ultimate happiness that Disney brings into my life. Every. Single. Day.  After swim and softball practice in high school, I would truly run home and watch the MMC (I’m totally dating mysef here) and it wasn’t the most popular thing to do. I never outgrew Disney and I was bullied often. People were and sometimes still are unkind, but I love Disney THAT much … I won’t back down.

During those times, choosing to buy Disney clothing and accessories wasn’t as readily accessible as it is now. Usually, I had to borrow the family Suburban to go to the Disney Store, order through the Disney Store Catalog (the catalog was THE best, am I right??) or waiting for a Disneyland trip. Selecting a Disney ensemble when I was growing up was pretty simple and basic.

Times have changed!!! *cue Space Mointain music* The Internet has proven to be an endless source, providing anything for your Disney needs. Merchandise is obviously still alive and well at the Disney Store and in Disney Parks (RIP Disney Store Catalog) but now the goods are everywhere I turn– including places I’d never imagine. Being a Disney fan is now luckily “cool” and you can dress the part from buying almost anywhere.

Am I the only one often overwhelmed at that? Where do I go? I have a few of my faves. One of my secret luxuries is clicking through Etsy. I am in favor of supporting small business and love to purchase homemade items… Especially ears!! I get stopped constantly in the parks on where I got my ears °o°. Sometimes the shops are temporarily closed, due to an abundance of orders, but “hatandmouse” and “yosabrinamarie” are definitely worth checking out. What are some of your favorite shops? (also look into modernmouseboutique)

Lately I’ve also been able to stay magically hip by shopping at Torrid and Hot Topic. Both stores supply the young at heart with Disney apparel and accessories, for Mouseketeers at any size. Both stores are able to be shopped in at malls and online and where you can buy Disney hair bows, jewelry, tshirt, sunglasses, etc. all at once! I was able to wear a Little Mermaid dress I bought at Torrid to Club 33.

For some threads at a great price, I frequent Walmart. I’m a pajama kind of gal and Walmart never disappoints with Disney pajama sets. Walmart also provides sizing at extra small – 4x! My family has also been able to buy graphic t-shirts for kids and adults, girls and boys, at Walmart. You may also shop in store or online.

These examples are just a few of the dozens of places I check out for my Disney flair. You can also search hashtags on Instagram to find wonderful small businesses that make Disney shirts, brooches, shoes, ears, jewelry… you name it! Where are your favorite places to shop to keep it Disney or do you even make your own attire and accessories?
