Disney Magic and the Love of Family ~ Emily’s Story

January 15, 2015

Hugs

It’s Thursday, so it’s time for our weekly feel good story! I’m always honored when our readers feel that they can share stories with me, especially ones that are on a personal level or involve their own experiences with Disney Magic. I got an email from Main Streeter, Emily M., and she gave me permission to share with all of you!

“I am so excited that I just has to share our story with a fellow Disney lover. My husband and I are huge Disney fans and we have been to Disney World together every year since we met 4 years ago. In August of 2013 we began fostering 2 little girls, age 5 and 2 in hopes of adopting them. In October of 2013 we brought their little brother home from the hospital. So we are now fostering 3 ages 5, 2, and 6 months. We hope to adopt them all but for now we just take it a day at a time. For the last few months my husband and I have been planning and very special surprise for these children who have come to mean the world to us. This morning when we got in the car to “to go school” we just kept driving. They have no idea where we are going. Little do they know that in 6 hours we will be at Disney World!!!

The horrors that these children have experienced in their short lives are more than most adults go through. We work every day to give them back their innocence and let them be kids again, free from the worry of finding their next meal or escaping abuse. I can’t think of a better place to do that than Disney World. They have never even stayed in a hotel before so they have no idea what is in store for the next week! We are having a Disney movie marathon in the car on the way down. As I type, our 5 year is singing along with Olaf in their favorite, “Frozen”.” ~Emily

This is just a wonderful thing to do, and there are many people like Emily and her husband who extend love and blessings to others, even with a Disney twist to it. Thanks again Emily for sharing your story with TMSM, we appreciate it!
