Disney Parks Mixology School: The Carthay Manhattan

Nothing can take the place of a trip to Disneyland Resort. Stopping for a drink at the Carthay Circle Lounge on your way through Disney California Adventure feels like a pit-stop in a previous century, sitting in a space that Walt Disney himself would’ve felt comfortable relaxing in, once upon a time.

If you can’t make it to the park, but want to reminisce about the dapper days of Disney’s early successes, we’re here to help you re-create the experience at home. Take a look at this recipe for the Carthay Manhattan, and watch our video for step-by-step instructions. You might see the creation of a famous giant round ice cube in there, too!

The Carthay Manhattan:

  • 2 oz rye whiskey
  • 0.5 oz sweet vermouth
  • 3 dashes of bitters
  • Luxardo maraschino cherries (for garnish)

It’s great to do it yourself, but if you’re a classic cocktail fan, you must try the real thing soon, at Disney California Adventure.
