From heartfelt family moments to imaginative games that resonate with both kids and adults, Bluey has become far more than just another animated series. What began as a charming Australian preschool show has evolved into a worldwide phenomenon embraced by millions of families across generations. Now, thanks to Disney’s expanding partnership with BBC Studios and Ludo Studio, Bluey’s world is growing far beyond streaming screens and into Disney parks, cruise ships, live entertainment, and even theaters in an exciting new chapter for the beloved Heeler family.

Since first premiering, Bluey has earned critical acclaim and a passionate fanbase for its authentic storytelling, emotional depth, humor, and relatable family dynamics. Created by Joe Brumm and produced by Ludo Studio for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation and BBC Studios, the Emmy-winning series quickly became one of the most beloved family shows in the world.

After arriving on Disney+, the series exploded in popularity, becoming the most-watched streaming series across all platforms in both 2024 and 2025. According to Nielsen, Bluey was streamed for more than 45 billion minutes on Disney+ in 2025 alone, proving the series has become a staple of everyday family viewing.

Disney executives say the partnership has worked so well because Bluey naturally aligns with Disney’s family-focused storytelling approach.

“We were able to bring that brilliant storytelling to families at global scale and give it a trusted home where it could become part of everyday family life,” said Ayo Davis, President of Disney Branded Television. “It’s the show families watch before school, after dinner, or together on the weekend.”

As Bluey’s popularity continued growing, expanding the franchise into real-world Disney experiences became the next logical step.

Today, fans can already encounter Bluey and Bingo aboard Disney Cruise Line ships, enjoy the live stage production “Bluey’s Best Day Ever!” at Disneyland Park’s Fantasyland Theatre, and now experience Bluey’s Wild World at Disney’s Animal Kingdom at Walt Disney World Resort.

Disney Live Entertainment worked closely alongside BBC Studios and Ludo Studio to ensure every experience stayed true to the spirit of the original series.

“Our creative teams worked very closely with partners across Disney Branded Television, BBC Studios, and Ludo to dream up experiences that would look and feel authentic to Bluey,” explained David Lightbody, Senior Vice President of Disney Live Entertainment.

Each experience has been uniquely tailored to its environment while preserving the heart and humor fans love. At Disneyland, families can dance and play alongside Bluey and Bingo during the live stage show. At Disney’s Animal Kingdom, guests can participate in interactive games inspired by the series and wildlife themes. Meanwhile, Disney Cruise Line offers “Wakey Wakey” morning celebrations featuring the beloved characters.

BBC Studios executives emphasized that maintaining the authenticity of Bluey remains a top priority as the brand continues expanding.

“What matters to us is that every Bluey touchpoint feels true to the show so brilliantly created by Joe Brumm and Ludo Studio,” said Cecilia Persson, Managing Director of BBC Studios Kids and Families.

For Ludo Studio, seeing Bluey transition from a streaming series into immersive real-world experiences has been both exciting and emotional.

“Ever since Disney+ gave Bluey a global home for many families, it’s been exciting to watch that partnership grow from streaming into something you can actually go and experience For Real Life,” the studio shared.

The future of the franchise continues looking brighter than ever. Disney and BBC Studios have already confirmed that the first-ever feature-length Bluey film will arrive in theaters on August 6, 2027. The theatrical release will be distributed by The Walt Disney Studios in partnership with BBC Studios and Ludo Studio.

According to Daria Cercek, President of Disney Live Action – Theatrical, the upcoming film represents another major milestone for the franchise.

“Bluey is already part of so many families’ everyday lives, and bringing it to the big screen gives us the opportunity to turn that into a special, shared experience while expanding the world in a way that feels both familiar and cinematic.”

As Bluey continues expanding from streaming sensation into theme parks, cruises, live entertainment, merchandise, and theatrical films, the franchise is quickly becoming one of Disney’s most powerful family entertainment partnerships in recent years. Through a careful balance of creative integrity, emotional storytelling, and immersive experiences, Bluey’s next chapter is proving that the magic of the series extends far beyond the television screen — and families around the world are happily coming along for the adventure.
