To celebrate the 55th anniversary of the Walt Disney Archives, Disney has released an all-new video that gives a glimpse into preserving the magic through the eyes of a special artifact, taking viewers on a fantastical journey as the cherished object becomes part of Disney’s historical collection. From a bustling research room to a treasure-filled storage facility, the character journeys through the storied spaces where Disney history is collected and preserved. When the item reaches a formidable digital preservation lab, chaos erupts—sparking a wild chase through the Walt Disney Archives’ cavernous warehouses. The object eventually finds its rightful place: a new home where it will be protected and celebrated—and be reunited with a long-lost friend.
Since its founding on June 22, 1970, the Walt Disney Archives has been the home of countless stories and treasures that have delighted and inspired generations. This spot commemorates 55 years of collecting, preserving, and showcasing the magic of The Walt Disney Company.
