Hey Main Streeters!
As I was walking through the vender room at the House of Mouse Expo in January, I found so many fun things! Jewelry, artwork, celebrities to meet, even sweet treats to try!
I came across a booth with a very pleasant guy sitting in it. In front of him I noticed some cool stickers and bookmarks.
As we chatted for a minute, I noticed the four books that were also on the table. I love to read books about Disney, so I thought I would treat myself to something new. I found out his name was Aaron H. Goldberg and he wrote all four books! I asked him which one would be the best to start with. He said it depended on what I was looking for. Info about the Disney brothers and how they got started, info about the parks, the movies, etc. Well, I am into all of it so I had to think hard about my purchase. He was telling me that they are all meant to be easy, fun reads and suggested I take one on the plane back to Minnesota. Then he told me he was offering a special if I wanted to go ahead and get all four. I decided to take him up on that and he signed and personalized all of them for me.
The next important decision I had to make was which one to take on the plane with me and which ones to pack in my suitcase with the rest of my expo treasures,
I chose to take Buying Disney’s World, The Story of How Florida Swampland Became Walt Disney World with me on the trip home. I was immediately hooked! It told the story of Walt Disney and how he came up with the idea for Walt Disney World and made it happen. I won’t spoil it too much, but he and his team came up with quite the elaborate plan!
