Orlando Man Sentenced After Inappropriate Relations With a Teen at Disney World

James Anthony Jones, 53, a designated sex offender, has officially been sentenced after being arrested in October 2019 for inappropriately touching multiple underage girls at the Walt Disney World Parks. According to court records, Jones has been sentenced to 15-years in prison.

Jones was picked out of a crowd by Disney cast embers, trespassed and arrested after touching a child in a store and another during a ride’s pre-show earlier on the same day in 2019. A mother later came forward to Orange County deputies saying Jones touched her 13-year-old daughter three separate times the month prior in the queue for a ride at another Walt Disney World theme park.

A credit for 867 days will apply to Jones’ sentence, records show.

This is not the first time we’ve heard of allegations of this kind being brought against theme park employees at the Central Florida theme parks.

In 2019, another Orlando man was arrested and charged for grabbing a girl inappropriately at a movie theater at Universal Orlando’s CityWalk, according to an arrest affidavit. Melvin Duval, 51, was charged with a third-degree felony count of lewd or lascivious molestation and a first-degree misdemeanor battery count, according to the Orlando Sentinel.

Authorities say that Duval grabbed the girl’s backside in the movie theater, which he reportedly denied doing it intentionally. The report states that he told investigators that he “grabbed onto her in order to avoid a fall.”

The incident reportedly happened on May 4. Court records state that at the time of the crime the victim was between the ages of 12 and 15 and that her father wanted to press charges.

Duval is not allowed back on Universal property.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, two years earlier, Duval was caught stealing a $300 camera at the spa at Loews Portofino Bay at Universal Studios. He eventually pleaded no contest to trespassing.
