Tom Holland Is Set for a Massive Pay Day if He Continues as Spider-Man

December 28, 2021 ,

Given the recent success of “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” Spider-Man star Tom Holland is looking to be on the verge of becoming Hollywood’s next biggest star!

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve probably heard that Holland’s recent appearance as the web-slinging superhero just hit gold at the box-office as “Spider-Man: No Way Home” has officially grossed over $1 billion. Given this massive return for Sony Pictures and the fact that the last two films have also been major successes, it goes without saying that Holland is kind of a big deal. In fact, he’s such a big deal that Variety recently put out a report claiming that some studio sources have stated the star could get upwards of an eight-figure payday for future films from major studios.

For those unaware of Holland’s previous earnings as the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, it’s believed he made less than $1 million in his first appearance in “Captain America: Civil War.” Following this film, the actor began taking home anywhere from $2 to $5 million for his appearance in independent films. Now, given Holland’s rising star status, he’s believed to rake in $10 million on the lower end for blockbuster films.

As for the future of Spider-Man, all that is known about the web-slinger is that Holland will at least appear in one more film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. At this time, it’s not been completely confirmed Sony Pictures will do another standalone Spider-Man film with the star. In the past, the studio has replaced their Spider-Man after multiple films.

More prominently, Tobey McGuire portrayed the character back in the early 2000s and was followed by Andrew Garfield in 2012 in “The Amazing Spider-Man.” McGuire’s run as the character has technically gone the longest with three films, which Holland just hit with the release of “Spider-Man: No Way Home.”
