Epcot Begins Testing “Harmonious” Water Effects at Disney World

Harmonious,” Epcot’s upcoming nighttime spectacular, is now in testing at Walt Disney World. Specifically, the theme park is testing the show’s water effects, which can be seen in new videos circulating on the internet. Here’s a first look!

The show was first announced at D23 Expo 2019, where the company revealed the nighttime spectacular would follow the limited-time run of Epcot Forever and be the largest ever created for a Disney park. The show had been under construction for quite some time, and in a recent update from the Disney Parks, fans finally got a glimpse at showing some of the spectacular’s physical set pieces. Today, from a recently posted video on Twitter, we see the show’s water effects in action!

In a recent release, the company spoke on the new show’s current construction progress, saying:

“Once complete, ‘Harmonious’ will be one of the largest nighttime spectaculars we’ve ever produced. We’re busy setting the stage of this innovative toolkit, preparing each of the show’s five floating platforms to take its place on World Showcase Lagoon. Positioned like a compass, these platforms house the primary show equipment for ‘Harmonious,’ and on the recently-placed center platform stands an iconic six-story-tall central ring structure, supporting a high-density water curtain, moving lights, fountains and more.”

Currently, the construction of the show is still in its early stages of development. However, how exciting is it to see the show make such exciting progress as it gets closer to premiering at Walt Disney World?

It was originally scheduled to open in Spring 2020, but it was delayed to 2021, since the opening was postponed indefinitely following the closure of the park, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Below is the official description of the show:

HarmonioUS is one of the largest nighttime spectaculars ever created for a Disney Park. The show is a beautifully crafted dreamscape of Disney music and images, reimagined by diverse cultural musicians and artists from around the world. It is a transformative experience where we can discover how Disney music has the power to inspire and unite us all with the magic of possibility.
