Today, we celebrate Veterans Day, a day to honor and respect veterans and active military duty. In 1918, the 11th day of the 11th month at the 11th hour marked the end of World War I. Join us as we commemorate the 101st anniversary of the original Armistice Day, which became known as Veterans Day in 1954. Thank you to our veterans – our nation is forever grateful for your service.

In honor of this special day, Bob Chapek, Chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products visited Disneyland Resort to participate in the daily flag retreat ceremony. He was joined by Veteran cast members to commemorate the important occasion.

“We are proud to support America’s veterans and military families, both by celebrating service and providing opportunities for those transitioning to civilian life,” said Bob Chapek. “From hiring and career development programs, to creating magical memories for active duty and veteran families during their visits to our Parks, we honor America’s heroes each and every day.”

As we acknowledge all active military duty and veterans today, let’s take a closer look at some of our own heroes who work here at Disney!

Our strong connection to the armed services continues today, as our company was founded by two brothers who served their country in uniform during World War I. Stay tuned to the Disney Parks Blog for additional stories being told throughout the month, and follow the conversation with #HeroesWorkHere!
