TMSM’s Adventures in Florida Living- Disney, Disney & More Disney

April 3, 2019

Happy Wednesday everyone!

As I sit here pondering the past week, I have to confess, I’m pretty tired.  This morning, I had to skip my radio spot because there was an event at Hollywood Studios first thing. Even though I was just going to Disney, I still didn’t sleep well last night. Honestly I’m not sure why I do that to myself, it seems that every Tuesday night is a rough one. Do you ever get that way as well?  Anticipation for what is coming the next day? It seems that it’s always a reoccurring issue no matter what I event I have going on. I’m assuming I worry too much.  Anyway, even with little sleep, it was a good morning at the Studios.  The new Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy opened on Sunday, but today was the media event for it.   I am sure it won’t surprise you that I went to both opening day as well as this morning. The new attraction is a show with an animatronic Lightning McQueen that talks to the audience.  He reminds me of the one they have out at Disney California Adventure.  The show is really cute, I’ll attach  video at the bottom of the page!

Also happening this week, the Easter eggs at the Grand Floridian made their debut. Oh yes, beautiful Disney themed eggs made of chocolate! What could be better? They added a few new eggs this year, including one themed with Dumbo. I think that one is absolutely adorable. Speaking of Dumbo, we went to see the new movie last Friday evening and loved it. I have been nervous about seeing this movie because of the crying factor. I made sure that I had enough napkins in my lap just in case uncontrollable crying happened. Yes I did cry, but I thought that Dumbo was very well done. If you haven’t gone to see the film yet I highly recommend it.

In the past week, it’s been Disney, Disney and more Disney! I went to Disney Springs to cover some merchandise releases, have been to the studios twice to see Lighting McQueen, plus went over to get coverage of the chocolate eggs. I am a bit tired, but all in all I love my job and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Even a good nights sleep!

Another exciting aspect of today was getting to see some up close testing of the new kind of a system that Disney is putting in. As we were leaving the studios this afternoon, the gondolas were moving and we were able to get some video of them. I’ll post video of that towards the bottom too. This week on our live show we moved our set upstairs. The set up is better up there but it was a little bit dark so we are going to work on fixing that. Just like with everything else, it’s a work in progress and we are always trying to find ways to make what we do better. Our TMSM Weekly Live one year anniversary is coming up in two weeks, and my guest cohost for that show is Scott Garland aka Scotty 2 Hotty from the WWE! Yes, I’m serious. He is actually a huge theme park fan in addition to his wrestling career, so it’s going to be a great show. I really appreciate everyone watching the show the past year, and keeping up with us every week the way that you do. I know that if it weren’t for our readers and viewers that we wouldn’t have this job so I am thankful. And on that note… it’s a good place to wrap up! Until next week, sending you lots of love, blessings and pixie dust. See ya real soon! -M
