Often times, we have readers ask our opinion regarding hotels and resorts that are near Walt Disney World, but not necessarily right on Disney property. Well, we have an excellent suggestion for those Disney-goers! The Sheraton Vistana Resort is right on the other side of Disney Springs, and is absolutely lovely. The resort is less than 5 minutes from Disney World, and is a Disney Good Neighbor Hotel.
We had the opportunity to stay at the Sheraton Vistana Resort Villas for two nights, and I have to say, we were highly impressed. The room size was very spacious and included a full kitchen, dining area, two bathrooms and a screened in patio. There were two bedrooms, one with a king size bed and the other with two double beds. The master bedroom features a whirlpool spa bathtub and a walk in shower. The kitchen area has electronics, Starbucks coffee, dishes, and other amenities you could possibly need during your stay. If you’ve forgotten anything or need snacks for the room, there is a marketplace on property that has groceries, as well as other needs such as toiletries and various sundries. In addition to beautiful rooms, and a helpful Marketplace, the Sheraton also has amazing pools and great places to eat!
If you’re looking to swim and just relax, then you’re in luck! The Sheraton Vistana has 7 outdoor pools. Yes, seven. We spent the afternoon swimming at the Cascades Pool. This area features a waterfall and fountain area, right inside the pool, which we loved. They also have games and activities at the pool in the afternoon, which kids can win a prize for participating. You can also grab a bite to eat or a drink at the walk up bar located beside the pool. It’s a great place to spend the day. Again, there are 6 other pools to choose from, and all are beautiful. We headed over to to check out another pool, which the kids were thrilled about, because it had a water slide! The Sheraton also has a recreation center with activities for children, tennis courts, playgrounds, and a basketball court. Families have so much to do here!
In the evening, we went over to yet another pool area for dinner. They have the Tacky Tiki Bar, which features great food like salads, pizza, appetizers, sandwiches and much more. You can also get a frozen drink in a souvenir glass, or any other cocktail that you’re looking for in this area. The food and atmosphere at the Tiki Bar was a hit for my family! On Saturday evenings, they have karaoke outside the tiki area, which was an absolute blast. For the first time ever, my boys tried karaoke and they loved it. The DJ on staff was so good with guests, and we can’t wait to go back and do it again. Down the way from the patio, is an arcade where you can play games and win prizes. Another hit for our group.
All in all, the Sheraton Vistana Resort was an amazing place to stay, and probably was one of the best resort experiences we’ve had since moving to the Orlando area. They have so much to do there, that you don’t have to leave their property if you choose not to. If you’re looking to get out to Disney, they have transportation and tickets for Disney World in their lobby. It’s so convenient! The Sheraton is what Disney calls a “Good Neighbor Hotel.” Disney Springs is so close by too, so even if you swim at the resort all day, you can get out to Disney Springs in the evening for some fun, and it will only take you a few minutes to get there!
