Up is Pixar’s tenth feature film. It is notable for being the first Pixar film to be originally produced in 3D technology. It was released in theatres and 3D on May 29, 2009. In its opening weekend, Up made $68.1 million, the number 1 movie for the weekend. This is the third best opening for a Pixar film, only behind Finding Nemo and The Incredibles. According to Box Office Mojo, Up has made approximately $293 million domestically and over $350 million internationally for a worldwide total of over $643 million. This makes Up the third highest grossing film for Pixar, only behind Finding Nemo at $864.6 million and Toy Story 3 at over $1,000,000,000. Up was nominated for 5 Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Original Screenplay, Best Animated Feature, Best Original Score and Best Sound Editing. It won for Best Animated Feature and Best Original Score.
