This morning Steven Miller at the Disney Parks Blog announced that there were new MagicBands designs and accessory coming to Walt Disney World. He also confirmed some already available for purchase designs that guests can purchase at the parks and on the “Disney Parks Shopping” app. Now available for purchase are the new Orange Bird, Tiana and red holiday Mickey Mouse sweater pattern MagicBands. New accessory items coming soon to the parks and shopping app are the new MagicBand-its featuring classic Disney characters and attractions and the official “2016 Dated” MagicBand which is printed with Mickey and the year on it, will be released on January 1 and will be available for purchase all year long. It was also confirmed that the new Tomorrowland Light & Power Co. MagicBand custom printing shop, which is located in the Space Mountain Gift Shop, has added new printing images to their line up. These new images which can be printed on any color MagicBand include the new Orange Bird design and A-E Ticket images.
But, the BIGGEST news thanks to the Tomorrowland Light & Power Co. having the ability to print on solid purple MagicBands, is that guests will “soon” be able to BUY plain Purple MagicBands. Per Steven “This solid color retail MagicBand will join the other solid color MagicBands we currently offer. Look for the purple retail MagicBand in late December.” The release states plain purple MagicBands will NOT be a “free with resort stay” MagicBand color option as many had hoped. Currently plain purple MagicBands must be purchased, if this changes we will update you!
