Today In Disney History ~ December 11th
Walt Disney Productions has produced an anthology television series under several different titles on several different channels since 1954. Originally titled Disneyland and airing on ABC (54-59) the series has had several names. Walt Disney’s Wonderful World of Color (61-69) aired on NBC. Walt Disney aired on CBS from 1981-1983. The current versions of the series are The Wonderful World of Disney (ABC 1991 to present which will be airing this Saturday night) and The Magical World of Disney Junior, on Disney’s own Disney Junior Channel from 2012–present. The concept of the series originally started with Walt Disney telling the world about the construction of Disneyland, and then became a way to share Disney movies and specials with families in their homes.
