There are four movies under the original Parent Trap “umbrella”, all four star Hayley Mills. The original was released in 1961. Hayley Mills plays two identical twins, Susan and Sharon, are split up as toddlers when their parents divorce meet each other at summer camp, find out the truth, and work together to reconnect their parents.
Parent Trap II was released in 1986 as a Disney Channel movie. It focuses on Sharon’s daughter, Nicky, who tries to hook her now divorced mother up with her best friend’s widowed father in hopes of not moving from Florida to New York. Eventually the two do fall in love and get married.
Parent Trap III was released in 1989 on the Disney Channel, when Jeff plans to marry again, his triplet daughters Megan, Lisa and Jessie try to bring him together with Susan. Eventually Susan and Jeff marry each other.
Parent Trap IV:Hawaiian Honeymoon was also released on tv in 1989. It picks up after Susan and Jeff’s wedding and honeymoon. After inheriting a Hawaiian resort the two decide to keep the family in Hawaii and fix up and run the hotel.
