Today In Disney History ~ June 18th
Mickey’s Birthdayland opened in Walt Disney World to celebrate Mickey’s 60th Birthday. The area was built on land east of 20,000 leagues and included a new train station, circus-style tent, Grandma Duck’s farm and Minnie Moo a famous cow who had a large hidden Mickey on her side. Inside the tent guests could see a show about Mickey’s Surprise Birthday Party.
The area was so popular is was remodeled in Aptril 1990 and turned into Mickey’s Starland which in 1996 would close to make way for the now closed Mickey’s Toontown Fair.
