Avengers fans from around the world are gearing up for the runDisney Avengers Super Heroes Half Marathon Weekend, coming November 12-15, 2015. It’s a full weekend of running and fitness with a super hero flair, unlike any race in the world. Now in its second year, there’s an all new 10k race and a new Infinity Gauntlet Challenge. Whether you are a seasoned athlete or a brand new runner, here are the details you need to register for the race on April 7,2015!

The Avengers Super Heroes Half Marathon weekend is four days of fitness events and Avengers-themed races through the Disneyland Resort in California. The experience starts with a three-day health and fitness expo and includes a Pasta in the Park Party on Friday night, complete with a buffet dinner and character appearances. The real highlight though is the weekend of races.

All of the runDisney Avengers races take participants through the Disneyland Resort and include character photo ops among other surprises. The first race is the Super Heroes 5k on November 13, a family-friendly run for aspiring Avengers of all ages. Runners looking for an even greater challenge can try the all-new Captain America 10k on Saturday, November 14. The weekend culminates with the Avengers Super Heroes Half Marathon, a 13.1 mile course in and around the resort area.

If that’s not enough, the most daring runners can take on the Infinity Gauntlet Challenge. Runners who register for the challenge and complete both the Captain America 10k and Half Marathon—19.3 miles—will receive an additional Infinity Gauntlet Challenge medal.

Registration for the 2015 Avengers Super Heroes Half Marathon Weekend will open April 7, 2015 at Noon EST. Spots are limited and registration fills up quickly. Last year’s Avengers race sold out in about two hours, so don’t delay.

Are you new to running? runDisney races are suited for new runners and competitive athletes alike. No matter what your fitness level, there will be people just like you walking and running the race. Many participants are there for their first 5k, 10k or Half Marathon. Thanks to a series of training plans, you can start training this summer by walking and running your way to a goal.

I hope you can join me this November as I take on all three of the races, including my first-ever half marathon. As someone who is new to running, I can attest that the runDisney community is one of the most inclusive, supportive, and inspiring groups around.  The training resources and on-course motivation can turn anyone—even me—into an inspired runner.

A number of Marvel creators and staff are participating in this year’s races, so stay tuned for more runDisney Avengers updates later this year.
