If you’ve been following TMSM for the past few years, then you are sure to know that we love Johnny Depp! Heck, we even have Jar of Dirt Fridays! Well today, our favorite pirate turns 51 years old! Wow, he looks fantastic, it’s hard to believe!
For me, I’ve been a Johnny Depp fan from the get-go. We used to watch his first film, A Nightmare on Elm Street over and over again. Sure, he gets killed off, but not till towards the end! Speaking of the 80’s, he really got more known and popular from the tv series, 21 Jump Street. I remember seeing him on every teen magazine cover back then, which of course I bought to get my dose of New Kids on the Block articles as well. Yes, I’m dating myself, but that’s ok! Plus Edward Scissorhands, Sleepy Hollow…… the list goes on and on.
Fast forward to more current times, Johnny Depp has become an icon for Disney Fans because of his beloved character, Captain Jack Sparrow from the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. Let’s not forget his portrayal of the Mad Hatter in Alice in Wonderland and Tonto in the Lone Ranger. He’s an excellent character actor, and we love how he makes these awesome characters his own. I know a lot of us Disney fans can’t wait to see him in the next installment of Pirates of the Caribbean (Dead Men Tell No Tales, 2016), as well as playing the Wolf in Into the Woods, among other things. So, Happy Birthday to Johnny Depp, and thank you for all the amazing entertainment that you’ve given us! Can’t wait to see what’s coming next!
