Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.E.I.L.D. Fans have been wondering if there would be a second season of the ABC hit show.  The reason for the speculation, as you probably know by now, SHIELD as a organization in the Marvel Universe no longer exists after the events of Captain America: The Winter Soldier.  So fans were worried since the organization was gone that the show would be finished after the one season.  Well in great news for fans, ABC has picked up the show for a second season.  I for one am very excited.

Agents of SHIELD

We had received word, from the powers that be at Marvel, that if the show was not renewed that a movie would be made to show what happens to the agents.  As much fun as a movie would have been to see, I’m happier to see the show will return.

In other Marvel related television news, Marvel’s Agent Carter show has been picked up and will debut on ABC in the fall.  I’m sure there are some asking “Who is Agent Carter?”  If you saw Captain America: The First Avenger or Winter Soldier, Agent Carter was the love interest of Captain America in the first film and also one of the first members of S.H.I.E.L.D.  In the 2nd Captain America film, we saw flashbacks to Agent Carter in the 40’s with Steve Rogers, recording a interview about Captain America after he disappeared and again many years later and suffering from dementia, but she remembers who Steve was.  The show will star Hayley Atwell who played the character in both films.

Agent Carter

I think this show will be great.  S.H.I.E.L.D. was formed after the events of Captain America: The First Avenger.  This show will be able to show some of the background story of the organization in the early years.  Stayed tuned for more information as it becomes available about this show.

For fans all over, I thank ABC for bringing back Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and for picking up Agent Carter.  There are many Marvel fans who are happy today because of this.
