Updates on the Downtown Disney transformation to Disney Springs

One of our Cast Member friends just sent in some information regarding the transformation that’s taking place at Downtown Disney in WDW.  DTD is in the process of transforming into Disney Springs. There will still be dining and shopping, just under a different theme! Here’s the latest word from someone who’s seen it!

The transformation is slow moving to say the least. Just a reminder that August 16th is Cap’n Jacks restaurants last official day. The sidewalk leading from Congress Park at Saratoga Springs is closed off and work is being done in that area to add room to that end of the lagoon. Guest parking is limited to the Marketplace side west to the lot in front of Raglan Road and the Pleasure Island bus stops. The parking lots west of there, in front of Planet Hollywood all the way to Disney Quest, are completely fenced off. Westside parking is only available in front of Cirque du Soliel.

Most of the main stores are still open. Curl moved it’s Pleasure Island location all the way to the Westside, between Splitsville and Disney Quest. Pleasure Island is still accessible by cars but parking is either or…Marketplace or in front of Cirque and around past the former Westside bus load zones.

I’d like to thank my friend Camille for the updated and on the scene information. We will keep you updated on the progress of the transformation as it comes along.
