Today In Disney History ~ September 14th
Disney’s Adventures of the Gummi Bears is an animated series that aired in the U.S. from 1985-1991. This was the first animated production by Walt Disney Animation Television. Disney CEO Michael Eisner found his inspiration for the show from his son when he requested the gummi candies one day. This series premiered on NBC on September 14, 1985 and aired for 4 seasons, then moved to ABC for a final season and concluded on September 6, 1991 as part of the Disney Afternoon television syndication package. The series was later broadcast on the syndicated Disney Afternoon block and rerun on through the summer of 1991. It was later shown on The Disney Channel and on Toon Disney as well. Disney’s Adventures of the Gummi Bears series consisted of 94 episodes.
The Wuzzles is an animated series that was first broadcast on September 14, 1985 on CBS. The main characters are based on hybrids of 2 different animals.
