While at a Disney Park, do you ever see a Cast Member that you think does an amazing job, going above and beyond for guests? I know I do! Well, our friends at WWWD (What Would Walt Do) have a great way to do something extra as a thank you for a special Cast Member! Here’s a little bit about what they do:
In the year 2000, we were founded to express appreciation to all of those Cast Members who keep the finest traditions of Disney hospitality and showmanship alive.
We wished we could have given something to these incredible Cast Members, but what? You cant tip a cast member but these folks certainly deserved it.
And so the WhatWouldWaltDo pin was born. Purchased and presented by you, the grateful guest, the WWWD pin tells a Cast Member that you appreciate the service they have given you, that they have gone out of their way, and that they have treated you the way you think Walt would have done.
The most common reaction by Cast Members to receiving their WWWD pin is tears. They are just so amazed that guests notice them and their efforts!
Our guests have given pins to everyone from Cynthia Harriss (former president of Disneyland), Matt Ouimett (former president of Disney Cruise Lines and later, Disneyland) to tram attendants in the parking lot. No
matter what the job title or level in the company, the reaction is the same, first tears and then, Wow what an honor.
People who feel good produce good results. Many Cast Members have told us that these little WWWD pins keep them doing what they do for guests. And so through your pin presentations you are helping to keep a legacy of service and magic memories alive for your children and grandchildren. We like to think that is how Walt would have wanted it.
How nice is that? Something so simple can make a big difference to someone who may not realize what a good job they do! You can be a part of the Disney magic by giving WWWD pins to Cast Members whenever you visit a Disney park, your local Disney Store or wherever a Cast Member keeps Walt’s and Roy’s dream alive.
