Fans hoping to see Phineas Flynn and Ferb Fletcher back on screen this fall are going to have to wait a lot longer than expected.
Season 6 of the Phineas and Ferb revival was originally slated to premiere in October 2026, but new reports indicate Disney is pushing the full season back to July 2027. According to posts from the fan account DisneyToonz on X, the studio does plan to release a few standalone episodes in the meantime: a Halloween special on October 2, 2026, a Christmas special on December 2, 2026, and a football-themed episode in February 2027. The rest of the season, however, won’t roll out until next summer.

The timing isn’t a coincidence. July 2027 marks the 20th anniversary of Phineas and Ferb’s original premiere, and Disney appears to be holding the season back so it can market the milestone in a bigger way.
That reasoning hasn’t gone over well with fans, many of whom have been waiting since the revival was first announced back in January 2023. According to DisneyToonz, much of the season is already finished, with Disney reportedly “just sitting on them to release them in a big batch next year.” One frustrated fan summed up the sentiment online: “What possible reason could there be for delaying an entire season just for the remaining 10-12 episodes that would likely be finished before Q4 2026? I get the batch method thing but not this far out, it kills viewer retention.”
It’s a familiar complaint in the streaming era, where long gaps between seasons can cost a show momentum and audience. For a series that ran just four seasons between 2007 and 2015 before returning for its revival, another extended wait is a tough pill for longtime fans to swallow, even with an anniversary celebration on the horizon.
Phineas and Ferb follows stepbrothers Phineas Flynn and Ferb Fletcher as they spend every day of summer vacation building outlandish inventions, from backyard beaches to homemade roller coasters, while their pet platypus, Perry, secretly moonlights as a spy battling evil, and their older sister Candace tries desperately to catch them in the act.
Disney has not officially confirmed the new July 2027 premiere date.
