Disneyland Removes Park Hopping Time Restriction Beginning June 9. For the first time since Disneyland Resort reopened following the pandemic, guests will once again enjoy complete flexibility when visiting both theme parks in a single day. Beginning June 9, Disneyland Resort is eliminating the long-standing 11:00 a.m. Park Hopper restriction, allowing eligible guests to move freely between Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure throughout the day. The change marks a significant shift in how guests can plan their vacations and is welcome news for Magic Key holders and Park Hopper ticket users alike.

Disneyland Guests Can Park Hop Anytime Starting June 9
Disneyland Resort has announced that beginning June 9, 2026, guests with valid Park Hopper tickets or Magic Key passes will no longer need to wait until 11:00 a.m. before visiting their second park. Instead, guests will be able to move between Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure at any time during normal operating hours, subject to park availability.
The current 11:00 a.m. restriction has been in place since Disneyland Resort reopened and introduced reservation requirements. While guests were required to select a starting park and wait until late morning before crossing over, the new policy restores the flexibility many visitors enjoyed prior to 2020.
What This Means for Guests
The update offers much greater freedom when planning a Disneyland vacation. Guests can now:
- Start their morning in either park and switch whenever they choose.
- Take advantage of shorter wait times across both parks.
- Better coordinate dining reservations and entertainment schedules.
- Enjoy more flexibility when using Lightning Lane selections.
- Move between parks based on weather, crowd levels, or personal preference.
One of the biggest benefits will be eliminating the rush of guests who previously waited for the clock to strike 11:00 a.m. before heading to the opposite park.
Reservations Still Matter

While the park hopping restriction is disappearing, Disneyland’s reservation system is not going away entirely. Guests will still need to make a reservation for their starting park when using a Park Hopper ticket or Magic Key reservation. However, once their day begins, they can freely visit the other park without waiting for a designated hopping time.
Disney has noted that park entry remains subject to capacity limitations, and guests should continue checking the Disneyland app and park hours calendar for the latest operational information.
A Return to Greater Flexibility
Many Disneyland fans have viewed the 11:00 a.m. restriction as one of the last major operational changes remaining from the post-pandemic era. Removing the rule brings Disneyland Resort one step closer to the more flexible vacation experience guests enjoyed before reservations and timed hopping became the norm.
With the Disneyland Resort 70th Anniversary Celebration underway and summer crowds arriving, the timing couldn’t be better for guests looking to maximize their time in both parks.
This is one of the most guest-friendly changes Disneyland has made in years. Whether you’re chasing attractions, hopping over for a dining reservation, or simply wanting the freedom to experience both parks on your own schedule, the removal of the 11:00 a.m. restriction gives guests more flexibility than they’ve had since before the pandemic. Beginning June 9, Disneyland visitors can spend less time watching the clock and more time enjoying the magic.
