The untitled series will take viewers behind the scenes of SailGP, an international racing championship that features identical 50-foot foiling catamarans competing on short, stadium-style racecourses around the world. The cutting-edge vessels are capable of reaching speeds of up to 100 km/h (62 mph), creating a high-adrenaline competition that has rapidly grown in popularity among sports fans.
At the center of the story is Australia’s elite sailing team, led by driver and CEO Tom Slingsby. Widely regarded as one of the greatest sailors in the sport’s history, Slingsby boasts an Olympic gold medal, an America’s Cup championship, and three SailGP titles.
