Disney+ Announces New Exclusive Simpsons Episodes for Summer 2026. For more than three decades, The Simpsons has remained one of the most iconic and influential animated series in television history. From predicting the future and parodying pop culture to delivering unforgettable laughs through the misadventures of the Simpson family, the series continues finding new ways to surprise longtime fans. Disney+ officially announced three all-new exclusive episodes of The Simpsons set to debut throughout summer 2026. The new lineup includes the double-length special “Extreme Makeover: Homer Edition” arriving June 17, followed by “Simpsley” on July 3 and “Yellow Mirror” premiering August 26.
The first new installment, “Extreme Makeover: Homer Edition,” follows Homer and Marge during what begins as a fun date night before quickly spiraling into disaster. After learning Homer left the children home alone supervised only by a doorbell camera, Marge begins imagining alternate versions of Homer during a tipsy fantasy-driven trilogy of stories. The episode will feature guest star Betty Gilpin along with musical guests Laufey and Tegan and Sara.
The second exclusive episode, “Simpsley,” takes Springfield into a noir-inspired mystery setting. The story centers on Marge Bouvier traveling to Italy in hopes of convincing Seymour Skinner to return home. However, things become complicated when Marge is tempted by Skinner’s luxurious lifestyle and must deal with Homer Simpsley, described as Skinner’s clingy and dim-witted houseguest.
Closing out the summer lineup is “Yellow Mirror,” a darker and more bizarre story featuring two unsettling tales. In the episode, a defective lamp causes Homer to question reality itself, while Maggie forms an eerie friendship with an AI-powered tablet that slowly begins controlling her behavior.
Disney says the new episodes continue building on Disney+’s growing collection of exclusive Simpsons content, which already includes specials like “Yellow Planet,” “The Past and the Furious,” and “O C’Mon All Ye Faithful.”
Fans looking to revisit classic Springfield adventures can also stream all 36 seasons of The Simpsons, The Simpsons Movie, numerous shorts, and additional specials available within The Simpsons collection on Disney+.
