Sneak Peek- Our Exclusive Tour of the New Disney Lakeshore Lodge Construction Site! Yesterday, I was among a select few of journalists to get a more in depth peek at the next upcoming Disney resort, Lakeshore Lodge. This sprawling new resort is located along Bay Lake between Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, on the former site of River Country water park. It’s massive, you can see the construction from the Contemporary Resort or even from the Monorail as you head to Magic Kingdom. We got a closer look! As part of the event yesterday, we were the first to see the brand new artist rendering from Disney. This time, featuring the side of the Lodge on Bay Lake. Disney Imagineering was on hand to show us the new image and to tell us a bit more about what guests have to look forward to.

Once the new image was shared, they took us down to the dock for a private boat tour of the construction site for Lakeshore Lodge. Two Disney Imagineers who are working on this project, Amy Watts and Dean Huspen, went with us to offer up more information and to show us various spots of this new resort. This side of the lodge has the recreation area, which if you look at the rendering, looks to be quite entertaining and beautiful! A spacious pool is always a good thing plus there’s a waterslide and lazy river! No information was shared about dining at Lakeshore Lodge as of yet but they said we should hear about that soon.

Lakeshore Lodge will have 967 rooms and, upon completion, will include new waterfront Lake Houses. I was particularly curious about the Lake Houses, which are a similar concept to the bungalows at Disney’s Polynesian Resort. Smaller, private spaces right on the water. These A-frame cabins have floor to ceiling windows for guests to enjoy the views on the lake and for some, to see the fireworks at night coming from Magic Kingdom. Don’t forget about the Electric Water Pageant! This resort will also have its own boat dock for transportation.

Lakeshore Lodge is themed around the “artistry of nature” and that type of influence on Disney storytelling. Some of the resort themes include films like Bambi, Pocahontas, Brother Bear, The Fox and the Hound. They didn’t tell us too much about specific themes inside guest rooms, but they did say that information should be coming out in the near future. All in all, Disney Lakeshore Lodge is definitely something to get excited for. It’s going to fit in perfectly with the aesthetics of the Wilderness Lodge and Ft Wilderness Campground. Thank you to Disney for the tour and information. More details to come soon so stay tuned!
