All-New Parking Structure and Transportation Hub Coming to Resort Area
Plans are in the works for a new parking structure and transportation hub set to be constructed on the east side of Disneyland Resort, specifically on part of the current Manchester cast member parking lot. This new facility will offer around 6,000 parking spots, along with areas for shuttles and rideshares, security screening, and a dedicated access point for traffic coming off Disney Way, which will enhance parking and traffic flow across the resort area. As shown in the artist’s concept rendering above, this new parking and transportation hub will also include a pedestrian bridge over Harbor Boulevard, creating a fresh esplanade arrival experience. This bridge will ensure easy public access to and from Harbor Boulevard.
Disneyland is kicking off their next construction phase with these upgraded parking, transit, and arrival options. This is all about building the infrastructure we need for future growth and to accommodate more guests as we introduce new experiences. There are two brand new attractions that will double the size of Avengers Campus, along with a new ride themed around “Coco” and an Avatar destination coming to Disney California Adventure park. The construction for this new arrival experience is set to start in the fall of 2026.
Updates on the Location for the “Coco” Attraction
They also announced that as they keep adding fresh experiences to Disney California Adventure, a new attraction based on Pixar Animation Studios’ “Coco” is on the way! It’s going to be located near Paradise Gardens Park and Pixar Pier, in spots that are mostly backstage right now. Construction is scheduled to kick off backstage this fall!
Avatar Experience Location Details
They have also announced that they are planning to turn part of the Hollywood Backlot area into our Avatar destination at Disney California Adventure. This project is still in its early development phase, and we’ll share more details soon, including when construction will start.
Sadly, to make way for this new experience, Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue! will close in early 2026.
This is just the beginning of exciting growth coming to Disneyland Resort, and as more details are released we will be sharing more about all of these projects in the future.
