New Cookie Bar at Summer House on the Lake Review. Please don’t judge us, but we may have snuck food into AMC24. Can you blame us? The new Summer House on the Lake just opened recently, and we had just enough time to buy a cookie before our movie started.
After hitting up World of Disney and seeing all the new things for sale and all the changes, then running around like a chicken with no head on, it was time for a quick bite to eat at Pizza Ponte.
After eating, and before the movie, we happened upon Disney Springs’s newest Cookie Bar at Summer House on the Lake. Which has just opened up less than a month ago. With no wait, even though there were plenty of people going through the line, we got our cookies and set off for the movie.
I understand the rule of no outside food or drink in the theater, but we were seated in the Dine-in theater, and there were a few cookies in my bag… what’s a person to do when cookies are talking to you saying “Eat Me”, I figured if Alice could eat things that talked to her in Wonderland, I could while sitting in an AMC24.

We got the Double Chocolate Cloud and the Brownie. Figured if we were gonna have 1 might as well try our favorite snacks. I could eat a brownie from anywhere and enjoy it, and the chocolate crinkle cookie is a classic in my home, so we felt that if they were as good as our homemade cookies they would be good enough to write about.
Since we are writing about them, they were worth it. The Double Chocolate Cloud is a chocolate lovers cookie. You can taste the baker’s chocolate, it is not too sweet, with a rich chocolate flavor of real cocoa. Even the confectionary sugar on top was not overly sweet. The cookie crumbled perfectly.
The same goes for the brownie. It isn’t super sugary, but teeth feel gritty after eating it type of dessert. I would almost like to call it an ‘adult’ version of a dessert, one where you can take your time and savor it.
Here is the only issue, which really isn’t one, but you have to make an amazing cookie if you are going to open in Disney Springs. There is a 10-ton gorilla just across the bride with the name of Gideons Bake House, who has the cookie market cornered according to locals.
Well after tasting the new Summer House on the Lake Cookie Bar cookies, there is now a place for both to thrive. Fans should just be happy to have 2 amazing places to stop now. I guarantee you they do not feel like competition, and they shouldn’t. If I know Steve, the owner of Gideons, well enough, he is probably rooting for Summer House just as much as we are.
