Imagineers Testing Interactive Features at EPCOT’s ‘Moana’ Attraction

June 21, 2023 , ,

The coming “Moana”-themed attraction coming to EPCOT is officially being tested by Imagineers and we couldn’t be more excited!

This news comes per a post on the official Walt Disney Imagineering Instagram account, which includes two photos of Imagineers testing the attraction’s interactive water features.

“As we test and prepare our next attraction to welcome guests later this Fall to World Nature in EPCOT, our Imagineers have begun to teach water how to play in Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana.”

The post goes on to explain the attraction, which they say will allow guests of all ages the ability to “engage with water in a variety of ways as they learn about water’s amazing “journey” around our natural world, including ways to better conserve our natural resources and protect water as it voyages throughout our natural world, connecting us all.”

Per the official Walt Disney World website, the attraction will allow guests to stroll along a self-guided outdoor trail where they can play and interact with water as it travels from the sky to the oceans and back again. Along the way, learning of the importance of water and discovering its playful personality–just as Moana did on her heroic voyage.

The new attraction is set to open with World Nature–the EPCOT neighborhood dedicated to understanding and preserving the beauty and balance of the natural world.

Currently, there is no official opening date set for this attraction and this new land at EPCOT. However, per the official Walt Disney World website, the attraction is expected to open in late 2023.

We can’t say for certain but if the attraction is already being tested we’d like to think it would be sometime this fall! But of course, we’ll all have to wait and see.
