Beetlejuice 2 Official 2024 Release Date Announced!

May 9, 2023 ,

It’s official, “Beetlejuice 2” is coming to the silver screen from Warner Bros. Pictures with a release date of September 6, 2024.

The news comes Tuesday, including the announcement that Michael Keaton will return to play Beetlejuice. Other returning cast to the film include Winona Ryder as Lydia Deetz and Catherine O’Hara as Lydia’s step-mother, Delia Deetz. They’ll also be joined by Tim Burton’s Wednesday Addams herself, Jenna Ortega, who will reportedly play Lydia’s daughter. Deadline also reports that Justin Theroux has joined the cast as well.

Tim Burton has also been confirmed to return for Beetlejuice 2 in addition to composer Danny Elfman. Speaking in a previous interview, the musician teased that he likes to be “a fly on the wall” when Burton is filming projects, adding that he’ll be doing that again “in a couple of months” for Beetlejuice 2. Elfman added, “That is very exciting, to return to that world.”

At this time, no details are known of this new film other than the fact that it will be coming out 36 years after the first film did. For those not familiar with the original Beetlejuice, below is the official synopsis from the Warner Bros website:

Michael Keaton, Academy Award winner Geena Davis, Alex Baldwin and Winona Ryder star in director Tim Burton’s comic twist on supernatural horror tales–Beetlejuice. When a couple of nice, young homebody ghosts (Baldwin and Davis) try to haunt the pretentious humans who have moved into their house, they ask for help from a demonic wraith (Keaton) they cannot control in this comic fantasy that mixes the quick and the dead with a laugh and a fright.

What are your thoughts of Beetlejuice getting a sequel all these years later? Will you heading to the theaters on September 6, 2024 to see the film? Let us know in the comments!
