‘Daredevil,’ ‘Jessica Jones,’ other Marvel Shows Move to Disney+ This Month

March 3, 2022 , ,

All of your favorite Marvel shows that used to be featured on Netflix are now moving to Disney+ beginning March 16.

The list of Marvel shows, which are no longer in production, at this time, include “Daredevil,” “Jessica Jones,” “Luke Cage,” “Iron Fist,” “Punisher” and “The Defenders.”

The official announcement came on Monday from the Disney+ twitter account:

“The countdown is on. Marvel’s Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Defenders, The Punisher, and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. start streaming March 16 on #DisneyPlus.”

The shows all first premiered on Netflix back in 2015 and ran until 2019. At this time, the shows will only be available in Canada, the UK, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand. They’re expected to come to other countries around the world on Disney+ sometime later this year.

Again, it’s worth noting that none of these shows are still in production–which makes us wonder if they might be rebooted?

When they were all first created they were originally only meant for Netflix and were written to be more suitable for adults. For that reason, as part of this new release, Disney+ will be implementing new parental controls.

It goes without saying that these shows would have to be reformatted to some degree in terms of the writing and certain themes and subject matters for any of them to be suitable for Disney+. Of course, it makes us wonder what would happen with the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe shows that have been released on Disney+ this past year–all of which, are intertwined with Marvel Cinematic Universe films.

It’s not to say that Marvel Studios could’t find a way to reboot these characters or series. However, if they do, we don’t believe it will be anytime soon.

Will you be re-watching any of these TV shows when they come to Disney+ on March 16? Let us know in the comments!
