A Disney Executive May Have Leaked the Opening Date for the Guardians Roller Coaster

Disney fans everywhere can’t wait for the opening of the new Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind roller coaster at Walt Disney World’s EPCOT! And per a recently deleted tweet online, it seems the opening date for the attraction may or may not have been leaked–but no one seems to know for sure!?!?

In a recent tweet by Disney’s chief corporate affairs officer Geoff Morrell the executive brought attention to the upcoming attraction and may have also spilled the beans on a few extra details that were not yet meant to be revealed.

The tweet, which is no longer on Twitter, pointed to a possible opening date of the attraction taking place over Memorial day weekend.

“Just another day at the office—got to ‘test ride’ the new @Guardians of the Galaxy rollercoaster at @EpcotCentre,” Morrell tweeted from his verified account in the since-deleted tweet.

“@WaltDisneyCo Imagineers designed this one like no other ride you’ve ever been on. Have to ride it to believe it! Check it out starting Memorial Day weekend!” Morrell continued, including a selfie from the ride.

Featured above is a new tweet with a new caption including the same image in the tweet that has since been deleted.

At this time, all we know about the attraction is that it is expected to open in summer 2022. Disney has not revealed the exact opening date of the attraction just yet. Although, it is a little fishy that the original tweet stating a Memorial day premiere has since been deleted by Morrell.

Below is the synopsis of the attraction:

Looking for a place to establish a peaceful connection to Earth, and at the suggestion of nostalgic Epcot fan Peter Quill, the planet Xandar and its Nova Corps have decided to establish Epcot’s first “Other-World Showcase” Pavilion. For their presentation, they have decided to focus on deep space travel, with an elaborate planetarium called the “Galaxarium” serving as a way to give guests a look at the formation of the universe as well as offering a hyperjump visit to Xandar. However, our field trip to Xandar is interrupted by the Guardians and chaos ensues as they and the guests are sent back in time to witness the Big Bang.

What are your thoughts? Do you think Memorial day could be the premiere of this new attraction? Let us know in the comments!
