According to a new report, it seems Disney Cruise Line is now under investigation for potentially violating Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ vaccine passport law.

Per a new report by The Orlando Sentinel, it’s been reported that Disney Cruise Line is one of 120 cases currently under review with the Florida Department of Health for potentially violating the recent enacted Senate Bill (SB) 2006. This bill blocks any business or government entity in Florida from requiring proof of COVID-19 vaccination.

According to this law, if a business is found to have violated this bill it can be fined $5,000 per violation. At this time, Disney Cruise Line requires any guests 12 or older to show proof of vaccination as a requirement to board any of their ships.

However, it’s worth pointing out that at the current moment Disney Cruise Line and many other cruise lines are operating under a federal injunction that blocked the law from taking effect. Although, despite this injunction, it seems Florida is pressing forward with investigation of Disney and other businesses regardless.

Disney Cruise Line, in addition to many other major cruise lines, were harshly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The company came to a complete halt in all of its operations for over a year as no ships were able to depart from Port Canaveral, Florida during the height of the spread of the pandemic.

Upon returning to the seas, Disney Cruise Line, like many other major cruise lines, now require guests to show proof of vaccination in an attempt to stop the spread of COVID-19 prior to boarding their ships–which was a major issue for many cruise lines when the virus first spread.

At this time, it is not known if the state of Florida will be able to punish DCL and many other companies who violated this senate bill. Be sure to continue to check back with The Main Street Mouse as this story continues to develop.
