Development on The Book of Boba Fett was rumored in November 2020 though was properly announced the following month with The Mandalorian season 2 finale in which the post-credits scene revealed Fett and Shand killing Bib Fortuna and taking over Jabba the Hutt’s throne on Tattooine.
