Hey Main Streeters!
It’s almost October! Can you believe it? Our beloved Walt Disney World is turning 50!
I, like many of you, will not be there in person on the exact day. (But have no fear, I have plans for a bit later.)
I do, however, have some fun things planned at home to get the party started. I can’t let this monumental occasion go by without some kind of celebration!
Here are some of my ideas to make this time magical:
Deck the Halls.
The parks are donning their best and brightest, and so can your house! From Mickey wreathes to candles and other knickknacks, be proud of your collection and make your home festive!
Wear Disney inspired outfits.
I have quite a collection of Disney inspired clothing and my plan is to break it all out. As an elementary music teacher my students are used to me being magical and they won’t be let down during the 50th.
Accessorize.
My favorite things to wear are my Disney jewelry and accessories. I try to have a little touch of Disney with me every day. I have been busy collecting some new pieces for the 50th to give me a variety to choose from.
Eat Mickey shaped food.
Everything tastes better shaped like Mickey, right? You could add Mickey shaped Goldfish crackers to lunches, make Mickey shaped sandwiches, even Mickey waffles if you have the waffle maker. They even sell Mickey ice cream bars in regular grocery stores.
Try a recipe inspired by the parks.
If you’re looking for something magical to make to eat, why not try a Disney parks inspired recipe? There are many out there that will instantly transport you to your favorite on property restaurant.
Watch the special on ABC.
ABC is airing a special called “The Most Magical Story on Earth: 50 Years of Walt Disney World.” on Friday, October 1st to kick off the magic. This 2 hour long prime time special will air at 8 p.m. Walt Disney World time and will take us through its history, beginning as Florida swamp land to what it is today. What a fun way to kick off a weekend and the 50th celebration!
