Disneyland to Follow Same Safety Measures as WDW, Ready When Able!

September 22, 2020

I just finished a press call regarding safety measures across Disney parks, with special mention of the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim.  Currently, only Downtown Disney is open, but the parks are ready according to Josh D’Amaro, Chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products.

Disneyland was supposed to open in July but was delayed due to government restrictions. However, during this time Disneyland has been getting ready for the parks to re-open and taking the necessary safety measures to do so. When Disneyland does open, it will follow the same protocols as we have at Walt Disney World.  They will use the park reservation system, expand options for mobile ordering at restaurants, have plexiglass and markers to help with social distancing, and of course have hand sanitation stations across the park. Face masks will be required. Also during the closure, at Disney California Adventure Park, progress is being made at the new Avengers Campus. All positive news. At this time, there is no opening date for the Disneyland Resort, but Disney is hoping that they can work with government officials to be able to open soon. They realize the importance of re-opening the parks and resorts as so many people are out of work and are eager to return.

As soon as we hear more official word as far as a re-opening date, we will be sure to post it. Stay tuned for more updates as we see them!
