Hong Kong Disneyland Temporarily Closing on July 15th Due to Changed Restrictions

July 13, 2020

We are hearing reports today that Hong Kong Disneyland will be temporarily closing on July 15th. This is due to changes in Covid restrictions in all of Hong Kong, not because of the park directly. The social restrictions went from groups of 50 people being able to gather, down to four. This will affect various businesses. As for Hong Kong Disneyland, the following information was added to their app-

  • As required by the government and health authorities in line with prevention efforts taking place across Hong Kong, Hong Kong Disneyland Park will temporarily close from July 15, 2020.
  • The resort hotels will remain open with adjusted level of services. Enhanced health and safety measures that reflect the guidance of health and government authorities have been put in place, such as social distancing measures and increased cleaning and sanitization.

From Fox 35 Orlando-

“As required by the government and health authorities in line with prevention efforts taking place across Hong Kong, Hong Kong Disneyland park will temporarily close from July 15,” a Disney spokeswoman told the news agency.

The Genie Transportation Services

“The Hong Kong Disneyland Resort hotels will remain open with adjusted levels of services,” the statement continued. “They have put in place enhanced health and safety measures that reflect the guidance of health and government authorities, such as social distancing measures and increased cleaning and sanitization.”

Hong Kong Disneyland had reopened just last month, and was the second Disney park to reopen following Shanghai.

The city of Hong Kong recorded 52 new virus cases on Monday, the New York Times reports. Hong Kong has had a total of 1,522 cases since the end of January.

Stay tuned for more updates and information as we see them!
